Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mino ("we", "us", "Mino") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Mino mobile application (the "App").

If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the App.

2. Who We Are

Mino is a football player development application currently operated by its founding team. A dedicated legal entity is being established; once registered, this policy will be updated to name that entity as the data controller.

If you need to reach us about anything in this policy — including exercising your privacy rights — email us at the address above. We respond within the time frames set out in Section 8.

3. Who Can Use Mino

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 13, we will delete it immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has registered an account, contact us at privacy@mino-app.com.

If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your country, you confirm that your parent or guardian has reviewed this policy and agrees to your use of the App.

If you sign in using Sign in with Apple (when available), Apple provides your name and email address on first sign-in only. If you choose Apple's private email relay, we receive an @privaterelay.appleid.com address and never see your real email.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to:

  1. Create and run your account (authentication, profile)
  2. Generate personalised AI coaching responses by sending your relevant profile data and chat message to OpenAI
  3. Generate daily training tasks by sending your profile, schedule, and recent task history to OpenAI
  4. Show your profile and clips to coaches you connect with (players only, and only public clips)
  5. Let coaches search a directory of players filtered by position, age, foot, attributes, nationality (no contact information is exposed without your action)
  6. Send transactional emails related to your account (password reset, important policy updates) — no marketing emails
  7. Comply with legal obligations if required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety

We share data with these providers only as needed to run the App. They are bound by data processing agreements that require them to protect your data at the same or equal level of protection that we provide under this Privacy Policy. We never share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

7. AI Processing Disclosure (Third-Party AI)

The App uses a third-party artificial-intelligence service operated by OpenAI L.L.C. to power the AI coach and generate daily training tasks.

What we send

Explicit consent

We send personal data to OpenAI only after you give your explicit permission. The first time you open the AI coach or enable AI-generated daily tasks, the App shows a consent screen describing exactly what will be sent. The AI features are not activated until you accept. You can withdraw consent at any time from Settings → AI Coach; doing so disables future AI processing. Existing chat history and tasks already generated remain in your account until you delete them or your account.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

You can delete your account and all associated data from within the App: Settings → Delete Account. The deletion is permanent and immediate.

For other rights, email privacy@mino-app.com. We respond within 30 days (GDPR / UK GDPR) or as required by your local law.

8.1 EU/EEA and UK users (GDPR / UK GDPR)

We are the data controller for your data. The legal bases we rely on:

International transfers: data may be stored on servers in the US (OpenAI) and the EU/US (Supabase). We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the EEA/UK.

8.2 California users (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of your data. To exercise any right, email privacy@mino-app.com.

8.3 UAE users (PDPL)

We process your data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021). To exercise your rights, contact privacy@mino-app.com.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data:

No system is 100% secure. If we discover a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law (within 72 hours under GDPR).

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, contact privacy@mino-app.com and we will delete the account.

For users aged 13–17, we recommend that a parent or guardian review this policy with you.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the App changes. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when we made changes. For material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email before the changes take effect.
